Brain, Body & Balance

Yoga Retreat

A mindful approach to processing trauma and reconnecting with yourself.

Sagrada Wellness Retreat

San Luis Obispo, CA

Thursday, June 27 - Sunday June 30

We are extraordinary, resilient women navigating through our experiences. The trauma in our lives, seemingly common or unique, impacts how we perceive the world and how we move within it. This retreat addresses the mind and body, working to re-awaken the connection for you to live a healthy and grounded life.

Imagine starting your day with a walking meditation through rolling hills, and practicing yoga with the fresh mountain breeze filling your lungs to complement your breath work.

You'll feel more connected with your body and brain.

From this place of connection, a licensed therapist will lead you through daily group therapy to process past experiences that mentally hold you back from experiencing pleasure in life. You'll then move through the physical barriers your body has built up as protection through restorative and vinyasa yoga with an experienced yoga teacher and health educator.

This entire retreat uses a holistic experience to mindfully process traumatic experiences, no matter how "big or small" they may feel. You will be empowered to use the tools that you've learned so you can move forward to experience the pleasures of life in every moment.

This is an all-inclusive experience where you'll have 3 gourmet locally-sourced organic vegetarian meals a day, gorgeous accommodations ranging from private to shared rooms, and plenty of time to relax, explore, and enjoy the saltwater pool and hot tub.

“I created intimate health yoga because I wanted more from my yoga practice. After processing my own childhood trauma, I noticed how my yoga practice directly affected my ability to connect with my body in a more intimate way. On the other side of that pain was pleasure beyond what I could have ever imagined. Coming back into the body after all we’ve been through can be a journey in and of itself, and my mission is to support you through that journey. When we FEEL more we can BE more in our intimate relationships with ourselves and with others.” - Courtney Avery, MPH

“I have always been particularly interested in the way trauma affects our body and minds. Both in the work I have done for myself and with others, it became more and more apparent that you could not improve one without the other. We hold on to so much in our bodies and we need to find a way to release it both through intellectual and physical means. I will be here to guide you on that journey and help you find your balance in order to process you trauma gently and without judgement.” - Raphaelle Cuenod, LCSW
